What amazes me is the number of businesses that haven't established an online presence yet. Also the ones that have a site, but don't do anything with it and cannot seem to connect to the general public.
Everyday I see sites which don't really represent their owners well. While I have seen sites leaving the impression that the owner is a Fortune 500 whilst the guy who runs it lives in his mom's basement, I have also seen some high profile companies with sites giving the impression that they are barely surviving. What you should do in order to capture the public is this: Start out small, but avoid making mistakes that need to be fixed lateron. It's better to have a coming soon page with a nice logo and your email adress than having something up there that looks mass produced and cheap. You do need a good logo. A logo doesn't have to be anything more than a Nike swoosh. It has to be unique, clean and be something that you will keep. Do you have a domain name? If not, then what's holding you back? ![]() Here is some information, resources and advice on how to brand your site with the right domain name. You can start a logo contest for as low as $50.00 on Site Point. Hosting is cheap with A Small Orange, one of the best and most reliable web hosting services starting at $5/month. Then you will have to find someone to design your site and help you get ranked in the search engine, find places to advertise and get some ideas on how to get your website seen by many. Google Adsense and several other affiliate programs can help you generate extra revenue. You will soon realize that the only limits the web is holding over your head are the ones that you yourself choose to look at. Ask away if you have any questions. We are all here to help support each others. Nobody was born knowing everything, so this is the place to learn and find out the true secrets to being successful online, shared thru real life experiences rather than someone trying to sell you an e-book for $39.99 ![]() Cheers and good luck on taking your first steps ![]() Mike Dammann
